Depending upon the type of hormone therapy you will need, it will be provided on-site by our Radiation Oncologists, or the Medical Oncologists of Illinois Oncology, Ltd.
Hormone therapy is used to treat prostate cancer and breast cancer. Often prostate cancer cells need the male hormone, testosterone, to grow; breast cancer cells need the female hormones, progesterone and estrogen to grow. Hormone therapy is a drug treatment that blocks these hormones to prevent cancer cells from growing.
